Our goal is ultimate protection for your outdoor furniture, by covers that look great in your garden. Re-thinking UV protection Over the years, protective covers have been made of thicker material. The idea behind this was to provide the sun with more material to destroy, therefore extending the life of the cover. The covers were made in layers: sealing layer, fabric layer and UV protection layer. This increased the cost, and the covers still didn’t last that long. B.PRIME has come up with the answer to the problem… ‘Solution dyed’ yarns. The colour pigments are already incorporated in the production of the fibre, giving a high UV resistance. Waterproof and breathable The outdoor clothing industry has been very important in the development of waterproof and, at the same time, breathable materials. ‘Watertightness’ is defined by a hydrostatic water pressure test (European standard EN 343: 2003 and German standard DIN EN 20811: 1992). At B.PRIME, we seal our fabric with a layer of polyurethane and test it with our own hydrostatic water pressure test. Another possible weak point is the seams. To combat this, we cover ours with a waterproof tape.
